Centralia Armistice Day Events

9 NOV – Chehalis – Lewis County Historical Museum will be continuing its special exhibit on the Centralia Armistice Day Tragedy. This exhibit displays many artifacts from that significant period in Centralia history of 100 years ago. 599 NW Front Way, Chehalis, WA 98532 time – 10 – 4.

9 NOV – Centralia, WA – Pop up Museum for the Centralia Armistice Day Tragedy. 622 N. Tower, Centralia. 1000 – 1600. Display of artifacts and items pertaining to the shootout in Centralia 100 years ago, on the first Armistice Day and WW1 items. Living History personnel will be on hand displaying and answering questions. There will be a newly printed walking tour brochure to take you around the area, to give a feel for what happened on that first Armistice Day (Veterans Day)

10 NOV – Centralia – 1300-1600 – same as above 622 N. Tower
Chehalis – Veterans Day Parade at 1400 in downtown Chehalis.

11 NOV – Centralia – 1030 Veterans Day Ceremony – Hosted by the Centralia American Legion Post. Location – Washington Park, 100 South Pearl Street. In front of the Sentinel Statue. Bean feed to follow at the Legion Hall, across the street, 115 W. Main St., Centralia. They are expecting around 500 Veteran Bikers to this event. It is the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day and the 100th anniversary of the Centralia, Grant Hodge Post of the American Legion.

11 NOV – Centralia – 1000-1600 – Pop Up Museum, 622 N. Tower St. – Living History Displays, Display pertaining to Centralia’s Armistice Day Tragedy. Sponsored by the Lewis County Historical Museum and Thurston Lewis Mason Central Labor Council. Washington State Labor Council President, Larry Brown will speak at 1230, on Labor today and our roots of 100 years ago. There will be a Stamp Cancellation by the Post office and John Martin to commemorate this event. Author Sandra Crowell will be available to sign copies of the book, The Land Called Lewis, the history of Lewis County, from 1-4 pm.
There will also be the opportunity to view some historic military vehicles.
